NEWS | Hedges on road to recovery

Jordie Hedges says he is making good progress in his recovery from a serious knee injury.

The Australian has been out since last September, and believes the slow and steady approach is the right one to take.

He said: “It’s going well, I’m a few months into it now and starting to straight line run again which is a big positive.

“It’s a slow process and the injury was a serious one, the recovery time at the start is nine months so I’ll just keep ticking the boxes as we go.

“I’ve got a lot of trust in the medical staff at the club, they do a lot of research into these things and how to come back stronger from it.”

After watching the Dons opening two games of the league campaign, the 24-year-old says he has been itching to get involved.

He added: “It’s my first long term injury so it has been hard to deal with, watching the boys playing every week is tough because you want to be able to play your part.

“The mental side is hard and when your mates are struggling it’s something that is difficult to get used to.”
