NEWS | Boyle: errors let us down

Ryan Boyle felt the Dons paid the price for giving away cheap errors in the loss to Barrow Raiders in Betfred League One.

The Dons surrendered a four-point half-time lead as they fell to a 32-22 defeat at the Keepmoat Stadium.

He said: It’s disappointing not to come away with the win after all the hard work we put in, we let them in for soft tries and paid the price for it.

“There are things we can fix up easily and with a bit more work this week hopefully we can show improvements next week.

“We’re confident with our defence but we’d rather not have to rely on it as much, because that’s what happens when you give cheap penalties away.”

Having scored the Dons’ first try of 2020 early on in the game, Boyle says the opportunity was there to capitalise on a good opening 40 minutes.

He added: “Barrow will be up there at the end of the year but we had had an opportunity to win the game having taken the lead.

“We went from being ahead by two scores to losing by four points in the space of 15 minutes which isn’t good enough at any level.

“We spent the week looking at their threats but there’s only so much information Rich can give us before it’s our job to carry out a plan on the field.”

The Dons return to the Keepmoat Stadium on Sunday March 8 to take on West Wales Raiders in Betfred League One. You can purchase tickets now from tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
