NEWS | Howe & Holdstock join the Dons

The Dons have handed contracts to Ben Howe and Alex Holdstock for the 2020 campaign.

The pair have impressed on trial throughout pre-season, doing enough to secure deals at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Both players played in the games against Sheffield Eagles and Wakefield Trinity reserves, with Howe scoring a length of the field try last time out.

The additions strengthen Richard Horne’s squad ahead of the first competitive game of 2020 next weekend – a Coral Challenge Cup third round tie against NCL Division 1 side Thornhill Trojans. 

Horne said: "Both players are young lads who have shown a lot of energy and enthusiasm leading into and during the pre-season games.

"They have plenty of areas to work on but both are very keen to work hard and take in what we are trying to teach them.

"It adds more depth to our squad which we know is going to be very important heading into the new campaign."
