Lyne and Robinson commemorated at 2026 Rugby League Awards

Two of the Dons were presented with trophies at the 2026 Rugby League Awards.

Reece Lyne was named in the Outstanding Contributions list, with his career coming to an end at the conclusion of this campaign.

Since signing for Richard Horne’s side in October 2023, Lyne has been a key name in the dressing room, and this year has helped the squad reach the Grand Final.

His impact for Hull FC, Wakefield Trinity and the Dons in both the Super League and Championship have not gone unnoticed.

Meanwhile, Connor Robinson also received an award to celebrate him setting the consecutive goal kick world record.

The previous target of 41 was held by three players, with Robinson eventually racking up an incredible 58, including 20 in one game against North Wales Crusaders.

His kicking has produced vital moments throughout the campaign, including a last-minute attempt at Barrow Raiders that gave Dons a dramatic 26-25 victory in the pursuit of securing top four.

In the play-offs, the scrum-half has not let up. He was flawless in the opening round against Barrow, and contributed further points in the next games against London Broncos, Barrow again, and the Preliminary Final away at Newcastle Thunder.

Robinson was also nominated for the Betfred Championship Player of the Year award, but was edged out by London Broncos’ Gairo Voro.
