Richard Horne backs squad ahead of season conclusion

Richard Horne has real confidence in his team’s ability, and believes they are hitting form at the perfect time in the campaign.
Last Sunday, Dons recorded an impressive 46-18 triumph over high-flying Oldham at the Club Doncaster Sports Village.
With five games of the regular season remaining, the aim now is to finish in the top four places to secure a play-off home tie, and Richard believes the squad is in a good place to achieve that.
“We always try to time it so we are playing our best rugby at the latter stages of the season, and, hopefully, we continue that.
“It is about backing it up and keeping consistent now, so we can enter the play-offs with some important wins secured.”
In the last seven matches, Richard’s side have won six.
He believes that is down to the options available in the ranks, alongside being able to maintain consistency.
“We know we have got the ability in the group - it is just about doing it week in, week out and making sure we stick to the gameplan.
“Because, if we do that, we are a hard team to beat.”
On Sunday, Dons’ push for a solid end to the season will continue against North Wales Crusaders at the Club Doncaster Sports Village (3pm KO).
There was plenty of noise coming from the supporters last weekend, and Richard is anticipating the same again next time out.
“The fans have been fantastic. I looked across and the crowds seem to be getting bigger and bigger leading into the play-offs.
“Hopefully, that will continue and we will try to put in another good performance.”
