Friday Night Lights: Get ready for Friday night action at the Eco-Power Stadium

Are you ready for some Friday night action at the Eco-Power Stadium?

We have selected two of our Betfred Championship fixtures in 2026 to switch to Friday nights under the lights in DN4.

Our clash with Batley Bulldogs has been brought forward to Friday, July 24 while the meeting with North Wales Crusaders will take place on Friday, May 1. Both games will kick off at 7.30pm.

Along with the usual thrills of a Dons matchday and great food and drink, we will have a range of activities on offer to make the evenings all the more memorable.

No secret has been made of the determination to take the club into the Super League, where evening matches are the norm. We want to try new ideas now to not only ensure we are fully ready for life in the top flight, but to bring new eyes on the team as well.

Chief executive Carl Hall said: “When we say we’re rewriting history this year, it’s more than just a slogan. We want to try new things that could shape the future of the club.

“These Friday night games are part of that. This is a chance for us to reach a new audience and show them what rugby league - and more importantly this club - is all about. Our two big goals are constant improvement on the pitch and getting more supporters in through the turnstiles and we’re confident we’ll get new people through the door.

“Where we’re determined to go as a club means we’ll have plenty more games in the future that won’t be in that traditional Sunday afternoon slot. We want to make sure we’re ready for that and have plenty of people in the stands when we get there.

“There’s a lot of exciting plans for what we’ll have going on around these two matchdays so keep an eye on our channels as they get closer.”

Tickets for the two Friday night fixtures are now available to purchase by clicking HERE.
