Misky ready to battle for his place

Isaac Misky insists he is relishing the battle for the starting shirt at hooker after extending his stay with the Dons.

The New Zealand-born ace has signed a new two-year deal with the club and is expecting a fierce battle for game time with the likes of Greg Burns and new signing Connor Jones.

But he believes he can learn plenty from those he is in competition with.

“We’re really privileged to have the likes of Connor Jones on board,” he said. “He’s a quality hooker and I’m really looking forward to getting to know him and be a sponge from him and the other boys as well.

“We’ll all come together and build that chemistry that will take us forward.

“We’re going to push each other hard and that will push us forward as a group.”

The 31-year-old believes the Dons should be targeting top spot in the Championship as they head into the 2026 campaign, driven on by the disappointment of missing out on the play-offs last term.

He said: “We set a goal for the top six and we fell just short of that which I know a lot of the boys were a bit unsettled about.

“Winning the chip will be the main target for next year and I think a lot of good work has been done in the off-season to help us go for that.”
