Watch Richard Horne discuss Dons recruitment and plans for pre-season

Richard Horne admitted he was looking to tip the balance of tight games in the Dons’ favour with his recruitment for the new campaign.

The head coach felt there were times last term when his side failed to make dominance of games count, which ultimately halted their play-off charge.

But with a top four finish at the top of the agenda for 2026, he hunted new additions that could ensure the Dons are not left ruing missed opportunities.

“I’m very happy with what we’ve done in terms of recruitment,” Horne said ahead of the return for pre-season training.

“We’ve looked to make ourselves stronger than we were last year. I thought there were games where we were really dominant but didn’t come away with the results.

“Hence why we’ve looked to bring in some new spine players as well as some strike and middles as well.”
