Dons add prop Gadwin Springer as latest new signing

We are delighted to confirm the signing of prop Gadwin Springer on a one-year deal.

The towering forward has become the club’s sixth signing ahead of the 2026 campaign following his departure from Featherstone Rovers.

Springer has extensive experience at Super League and Championship level and will add further depth to Richard Horne’s squad along with immense strength and power.

“I’m really happy to have everything sorted now,” he said. “It’s been a tough few weeks, not really knowing what is happening but we got this done quickly and I’m really pleased to be here.

“There’s a great vision for the club and the future looks really bright so I’m happy to be part of it.”

Springer was born in French Guiana and went on to become the first South America born player to feature in Super League.

His previous clubs include Catalans Dragons, Toulouse Olympique, Toronto Wolfpack and Halifax Panthers.

Head coach Richard Horne said: “Gadwin is certainly a massive presence and will be a great addition to the forwards.

“He’s incredibly strong and powerful and will both compliment what we already have at prop, and add to it as well.

“Whether he’s starting or coming on, he’s going to be a real asset for us and he’s got plenty of experience at the level as well.”
