Glover 'worth the wait' for Horne

It is a case of better late than never for James Glover’s arrival at the Dons according to head coach Richard Horne.

Heading into last season, Horne was interested in speaking to the centre about potentially joining the club but his contractual status at Sheffield Eagles meant the move was not possible.

So with Glover likely to be available after spending the second half of the term at Featherstone Rovers, Horne jumped at the opportunity to speak to him.

“We sort of looked at him last year but he was still contracted at Sheffield,” he said. “He eventually made the move to Featherstone and situations have come up where we have been able to go and get him.

“We’re really pleased to have him on board.

“He’s very powerful, full of energy.

“And he brings that competition as well. We’ve got a couple of centres now and if you’re not performing, you’re going to be sat on the sidelines.”
