Holmes looking to deliver 'big game moments' for Dons

Tom Holmes is determined to bring ‘big game moments’ to the Dons after joining the club.

Holmes has signed a two-year deal with the Dons after departing Bradford Bulls.

And he is determined to deliver excitement and experience to a play-off push in 2026.

“I’ll bring some experience from Super League and I’ve played a fair few games in the Championship now,” the 29-year-old said.

“I’d like to think I’ll bring a bit of energy to the team. I like to play some exciting rugby, I don’t like playing boring rugby.

“I like to come up with some big play rugby and hopefully I can bring that to Doncaster.

“I feel like over the last few years, I’ve played some of the best rugby I’ve played. I want to bring that here and I think there’s still plenty of improvement in me.

“I want to improve under Rich and the other staff and I can play a big part in pushing us into the play-offs. I’m sure that’s the team goal as well.

“We want to be pushing for the play-offs and that’s my goal.”

Holmes is looking forward to lining up alongside rather than against Connor Robinson next season after joining the Dons.

The pair have enjoyed a rivalry on the pitch over the years and now full back Holmes is excited to terrorise opposition teams together with Robinson in Dons colours.

“Me and Connor Robinson have had a few back and forths over the years,” he said. “I messaged him the other day and said it’ll be nice to annoy other teams rather than going after each other.

“There’s some real good talent across the group. It’s nice to see some familiar faces but some new ones as well.

“Connor Jones is one of my close mates. I played with him at Featherstone when he first came over from Australia.

“I probably know 90 per cent of the group. I’ve played with a lot of them and I’ve played against most of them.”
