Hey signs up for two more years with the Dons

We are delighted to confirm that centre Brad Hey has signed a new two-year contract with the Dons.

The 31-year-old has made more than 70 appearances for the club across three seasons.

He played a significant role in promotion back to the Betfred Championship in 2023 as well as establishing the Dons in the second tier over the past two years.

And Hey has committed for the 2026 campaign as we seek to challenge at the top end of the division.

“I’m really happy because this was my first choice,” he said. “I just wanted to get it over the line and get back into it.

“It wasn’t the way we wanted it play out at the end of last season so hopefully we can right a few wrongs.

“I’ve grown to really love the club in the time that I’ve been here. I’ve moved here and my missus is from Doncaster, we’ve recently had a baby so it means a lot sentimentally to be here. It was a no-brainer for me.”

Vastly experienced in the second tier, Hey previously represented York and Hunslet prior to his arrival at the Eco-Power Stadium.

Dons head coach Richard Horne said: “Brad is one of those players that is an eight out of ten every week.

“Having players that you can rely on to deliver on a consistent basis is massive and it’ll be really important for us as we look to progress next year.

“I’m really pleased that he’s with us for the next couple of seasons.”
