NEWS | Ilikaya Mafi commits for 2025

We are delighted to confirm that the 2024 Don Brooks Rising Star, Ilikaya Mafi has signed a new one-year contract with the Dons.

Mafi started out his rugby league career in Hull with the Airlie Birds where he progressed through their youth ranks, representing them at the academy and reserves level in 2022 before moving on to Castleford Tigers for 2023.  

He made 9 appearances for the Dons during the 2024 season.

Head coach Richard Horne said, "Ilikaya is still young and learning the game.

“We are really pleased with his development last season, and we are looking forward to him kicking on again this season."

Ilikaya said " I’ve loved my first season in blue and yellow and I'm thrilled to sign on again for 2025. 

“I’m learning so much from Rich, the coaching staff and the lads.

“I can’t wait to get stuck into pre-season and be ready to challenge for my place in 2025.”
