NEWS | Future Dons Update

Our Future Dons Pathway (U12-U16) has been a major success so far in 2024.
The highlights:
- Games against Hull FC, Wakefield, Featherstone & Oldham
- 24 players used
- 6 Community Clubs represented
- Brand new sponsorship deal

Registrations have increased week on week, with over 60 different players attending a session.
The U15/U16 group have played in two 13-a-side fixtures against Oldham and Featherstone Rovers. Both evenings were a major success, with big crowds supporting at both Bentley & Doncaster Toll Bar. Our Future Dons also played in a 7-a-side festival at the Eco-Power Stadium on Sunday, before our 1st team challenged Bradford Bulls. The Dons hosted Hull FC & Wakefield Trinity, with over 50 players participating and playing on the pitch.
The U15/U16 group have one more fixture in October, when they will take on Halifax Panthers on Wednesday October 30 at Moorends Marauders, with a 7pm kick off. Our final development session of the year (U12-U16) will take place on Thursday October 31 at the Eco-Power Stadium. The session will be delivered in partnership with the High Performance Centre - University Campus Doncaster. The High Performance Staff will be running a wide range of testing & skills for the boys, which will give them an insight into how the professionals train. The same coaches run tests with the 1st team players at Dons RLFC, Doncaster Rovers & Doncaster Belles. The programme will be even bigger in 2025, with U14's, U16's and U18's teams representing Doncaster RLFC.
Fixtures will be spread out across the year, working hand in hand with the great work our community clubs are doing.
