NEWS | Eco-Power to scale back sponsorship with Club Doncaster

Eco-Power has made the strategic decision to scale back from its headline sponsorship commitments at Club Doncaster.
The organisation will remain a significant sponsor of the club in a different capacity beyond the end of this season.
Eco-Power managing director Louis Calders said: "The company has gone through a significant transition over the past few years. We have very much been on the growth path in terms of building the brand and all of the individual businesses under the Eco-Power collective of companies.
“The sponsorship of the stadium and Doncaster Rovers as front-of-shirt sponsors, along with our support of the Dons and the Belles, has been fundamental as a platform for growing the brand during that period. It's enabled us to develop some of the best-in-class regional businesses across South Yorkshire and Humberside. This success has undoubtably led to acquisition interest from national and multinational businesses in those specific sectors.
“This is evident from the sale of our waste management/environmental fuels business to Biffa this year. The divestment of this business was made after a thorough review of the company's portfolio and in alignment with our long-term growth strategy. The sale allowed us to allocate resources more effectively, streamline operations, and invest in other core businesses that align with those growth objectives, particularly in the renewables sector which is now our main business activity and provides the greatest sector for growth over the next decade. Much of the work in this sector however is through government-appointed contracts with renewable subsidies where the need for local brand visibility and exposure is less prevalent.
“This is the main reason that we have decided to scale back our sponsorship with Club Doncaster. We are however in discussions with the club to see how we can continue to support them across many other forms of sponsorship for years to come, in line with the new commercial objectives of the business.
“We would like to thank Club Doncaster for their hard work and professionalism over the past four years and we look forward to continuing working with them by supporting and sponsoring the club in a different capacity moving forward.”
