INTERVIEW | Jeylan Hodgson on his move to Doncaster RLFC

The Dons latest recruit says joining Doncaster RLFC makes perfect sense at this stage of his career and is looking forward to challenging himself in a tough Betfred Championship division.

The exciting 19-year-old has rugby league in his blood, adding another name from his family to the sport following his uncle NRL star Josh Hodgson and brother Bailey Hodgson.

"Coming to Doncaster until the end of the season makes perfect sense for me at this point in my career as it’s a great challenge to see where I am in my development as a player and to really test myself in such a strong league," said Hodgson.

For the Doncaster fans that haven't seen the hooker in action he said, "The Fans can expect to see my aggressive nature in defence as well my craftiness and explosiveness around the ruck.

"You know, Sheffield are coming off of a really high scoring performance so they’ll have that confidence coming into Sundays game so it’s definitely going be a really tough game but I’m excited for the test and we are in good form ourselves."

Doncaster RLFC travel to South Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Eagles on Sunday, August 4 for a 3pm kick-off at the Olympic Legacy Park Stadium.
