INTERVIEW | Alex Sutcliffe eyes return to Dons action

After suffering a broken jaw that's kept him on the sidelines for over nine weeks, Alex Sutcliffe is champing at the bit to return to first team action.

Doncaster RLFC head to Halifax this weekend and Sutcliffe has been named in the 21-man squad after missing almost three months of rugby league action.

Discussing the road back to recovery Sutcliffe said, "It's been tough, it's hard watching the boys on a weekend and not being able to do a bit and help out. I've been getting flogged by myself for about eight weeks now and it's good to finally be back in contention."

This weekend's hosts find themselves at the wrong end of the table but Sutcliffe knows not to read to much into league positions at this stage of the season, "They've not had the best of starts this season but that doesn't mean anything. I played there last season and they have some really good players.

"We can't take anything for granted at this level, Halifax will be raring to go.
