INTERVIEW | Loui McConnell ahead of Dons hosting Batley

The Doncaster RLFC forward says he's enjoying life in the Betfred Championship and is looking forward to another tough test this weekend.

The Dons welcome Batley Bulldogs to the Eco-Power Stadium this Sunday, May 19 for a 3pm Betfred Championship showdown. 

Doncaster's 2023 Ellery Hanley Man of Steel Loui McConnell said this week, "I'm really enjoying the journey in the Championship so far, playing week in week out is a big part of that, rather than the stop start nature of League One and that regularity of games will only put us in good stead.

"We've been putting a few wrongs right over the last couple of weeks, we're still not where we want to be as a group but we've got a good three week block now to build the blueprint of where we want to go for the rest of the season."

Looking at the table there's not much between the two sides and both clubs will be eyeing a victory in South Yorkshire this Sunday. 

McConnell said, "We're expecting a quick enthusiastic start so we need to bring our a-game early to be in with a chance of walking away with the two points."
