INTERVIEW | Richard Horne reacts to Wakefield result

Doncaster RLFC coach Richard Horne was proud of his side on Sunday afternoon, going down 42-6 to full-time Wakefield Trinity at the Eco-Power Stadium. It wasn't the result the Dons wanted, but Horne saw plenty of promise as his side fared against a team t

The boss did rue some of his side's decision-making and error count at times but still came away from the clash happy. Horne believes they have to learn from playing a quality opponent and understand the levels needed against the top teams in the division.

"We competed well. It was frustrating at times; they got us on two early kick plays, which you can accept. Their ruck tempo was quick which caused their shift tries, but we made far too many errors. We were committing numbers but against a quality opponent; we will learn a lot. We competed but wasn't quite good enough today.

"We spoke before the game; if you have one play-off against a team like this, they'll punish you, and Wakefield did. We will learn from this; it's a long season, and we need to tidy up against Featherstone. We've had a tough start to the season, but every opponent is hard in this division. We have to adapt, and we have to on Sunday. Fev have some big middles and they're very good in the halves. We've got some things to go at this week, and we will be ready to go."
