WATCH | Connor Robinson looks ahead to League One Promotion Final

The Betfred League One leading points scorer says that preparations are as usual for the Dons with a mix of hard work and high spirits.

The 2023 season finale this Sunday sees Doncaster RLFC host North Wales Crusaders at the Eco-Power Stadium in a clash that will grant the winners promotion to the Betfred Championship.

Robinson on personal performance this season:

“One of my goals this season was to better myself on last season and take more responsibility taking some pressure off Ben Johnston and I think as a partnership we've dragged each other through and I think it speaks volumes for where we are as a team this season.”

The half-back reacting to kicking over 100 goals this season: 

“I see that as my job and if my kicking and points percentages are up there you'd like to think where we are now that role has a part in where we finish. I just see that as me doing my job.”

Robinson went on to speak about helping to guide the lads in the squad that haven't experienced a final before, advising them to not over-think and put pressure on themselves but to continue doing all of the usual things in their preparation as they have done all season and most importantly to enjoy the occasion. 

Robinson's message to Dons fans:

“Get down and make a load of noise, you won't believe the effect is has on all of us boys. You're like that 18th man that isn't playing and when you hear that roar behind you it gives you that extra set of lungs or legs when you're feeling it.”   

The Dons will host North Wales Crusaders in the Betfred League One Promotion Final at the Eco-Power Stadium on Sunday, September 24 with the prize being promotion to the Betfred Championship.
