REPORT | London Skolars 0 Doncaster RLFC 60

The Dons roared back to winning ways with a 60-0 demolition of bottom side London Skolars.

Richard Horne's side put an emphatic full stop on a run of just one win from their previous four matches as they swept aside the Skolars in the north of the capital.

The domination began from the kick off with Misi Taulapapa finishing off a great move in the third minute that started on the halfway line and passed through many Dons hands before he crossed to open the scoring.  Scrum half Connor Robinson converted for the first time on the night.

It took until 15 minutes for the Dons to stretch their lead when Albert Vete smashed his way through the Skolars' defence to touchdown under the posts, Robinson again converting.

The Skolars were now on the back foot and the Dons immediately added to their lead when winger Tom Halliday broke from the half-way line to touch down.  Robinson made it three from three from the tee.

London briefly threatened the Dons line forcing them to drop out on, but they withheld the pressure.

Centre Taulapapa was in again on 33 minutes following great footwork from full-back Josh Guzdek to touchdown for his second try of the game.

Robinson converted to keep his perfect record in the first half as the Dons stretched their lead to 24-0 at the break.

While comfortable on the scoreline, the Dons were in no mood to ease off and continued to dominate from the start of the second period. Robinson showed great skill to pass the ball out of the back of his hand to allow Watson Boas to go over unopposed, before the scrum half added the extras.

It took a further ten minutes for the Dons to add to their score when Alex Holdstock pounced on a Skolars mistake to smash his way over the line. Robinson added the two.

Robinson continued to shine when he snatched the ball from the Skolars' scrum half as they threatened the Dons line and then proceeded to run the length of the field to touch down for four more points.  He finally showed a fallibility with his kicking boots by putting the conversion just wide from the touchline.

Captain Sam Smeaton then added to the scoreline as Robinson showcased a superb cut out pass to put him in.  Robinson again just putting the conversion wide.

Smeaton then equalled the record for the most tries by a Dons forward in a season as he was allowed to walk over unopposed following great work by both Watson Boas and Ben Johnston.

Big Vete added to his Dons try tally on 75 minutes by again smashing his way through the tiring Skolars defence. Boas took over kicking duties and successfully added the two.

Boas then completed the scoring as he jinked his way over the line to make the final scoreline 60-0, successfully converting his own try.
