NEWS | Richard Horne rues errors and missed opportunities in Dewsbury defeat

Dons head coach Richard Horne was left to rue errors and missed opportunities as his side lost their perfect record in defeat at promotion rivals Dewsbury Rams.

But Horne believes there is plenty his players can take into future games as they look to bounce back from the 26-12 loss.

Horne's reaction:

"I'm obviously disappointed. Dewsbury were good, a little more composed and we looked a little erratic at times. I can’t fault the efforts from the lads they worked hard but the errors and penalties we gave away cost us."

On how the game played out:

"In the first half, we had opportunities and didn’t take them. If we had, the game would have been different, giving us something to hold on to. Then in the second half, we switched off for a ten minute and they complete three kick plays. It happens and we will dust ourselves down, learn from it and go again."

On the season so far and London Skolars next week:

"It's been a hugely more positive start. There's lots of tough games still to play. We're nearly at the half way point and we have to go again. Oldham and Hunslet are improving and then Dewsbury again. We need to keep working hard, learning and keep progressing."

"Skolars have had mixed results. We will look to focus on what we didn’t get quite right today and look to apply it next week."
