NEWS | Ferres: start much better

Brett Ferres felt the Dons showed their quality in the win over Oldham at the Eco-Power Stadium.

The experienced forward got over for a try on his 400th career appearance, to help secure a fifth straight league victory for Richard Horne’s side.

On how the team played:

“We performed well for an hour of the game, and then probably got a little bit too comfortable and invited Oldham on to us but we’d done enough to get the win.

“It’s a pleasing performance overall and we started the game a lot better, but we won’t be resting on that and there is still a lot for us to work on.

“We’ve been putting a lot of effort into starting games better and that paid off against Oldham, we’ve grown into games so far this season where as this one was slightly different.”

On celebrating his milestone with his family:

“It was a nice occasion for myself, I’m really grateful to the Dons as a club because they made it really special for me.

“They invited my family to come in and present me with my shirt before the game which was great and meant a lot to me.

“To then go on to cap it off with a try and two points in the competition is a big bonus so it was a good day all round.”
