NEWS | Dean Roberts agrees new deal

The Dons are delighted to confirm that Dean Roberts will remain with the club for the 2023 campaign.

The Doncaster-born forward impressed after coming in on trial ahead of last season, and did enough to earn himself a permanent deal at the Eco-Power Stadium.

Roberts made 19 appearances in total throughout 2022, and played a big part in Richard Horne’s side reaching the Betfred League One play-off final.

He said: “It’s great to be staying with the club next year. I’m a local lad and every time I step onto the pitch for the Dons I feel like I’m representing my family and the people of Doncaster.

“That brings pressure in itself but it’s something I relish and I’m buzzing to get back into training with the boys and prepare for a big year.

“Carl has made no secret of the fact we’re aiming to win the competition next season, so from day one that has to be the goal we’re working towards.”
