NEWS | Holdstock embracing pressure

Alex Holdstock says the Dons will be looking to right a few wrongs when they face Swinton Lions in the Betfred League One play-off final this weekend.
Holdstock was part of a side that were beaten to promotion by Workington Town last season, and says the squad are motivated by that experience.
On the size of the challenge:
“It’s a massive game, I’m sure everyone will be giving everything this week to make sure they’re in the team come Sunday.
“We’ll look to play the same way and have each other’s back, and look to go one step further than we did last year.
“The key for me is to come off the field with no regrets, no matter the result I don’t want to be coming off wondering what might have been.
“We’ve got a real good group of lads with a lot of experience, they’ve been there and done it before so they’ll be crucial at the weekend.”
On playing the game rather than the occasion:
“The saying is that you have to lose a final to win one, the experience of last year can only help the lads that were here.
“There are no excuses, we have a squad full of lads ready to go rather than carrying knocks and niggles going into the final last year.
“We’re in a good place and have beaten Swinton on their own patch this season, so we have a lot of belief of doing that again.
“Every training session we’ve had this season and all the messages we’ve had from the coaching staff, they’ve all been gearing towards Sunday.
“A club like Doncaster with the staff and everyone involved deserves to be in the Championship, now it’s our job to take us there.”
