NEWS | Corion looking forward to Rochdale tie

Travis Corion says the Dons have all the motivation they need heading into this weekend’s Betfred League One preliminary final against Rochdale Hornets this weekend.

Richard Horne’s side know a win at the Eco-Power Stadium would see them progress into the play-off final for a second year in a row.

On taking advantage of a second chance:

“I think we have to appreciate getting the second chance and having another crack at it. We know where we went wrong last week and the loss was completely on us.

“Everyone was so pumped and up for the game last week but that probably got the better of us and came out with a lack of control.

“We’ve got a lot of players that were involved in the final last year, and others that have won promotion before so that experience is crucial.

“They know how to manage games like this and when it gets a bit tense they can lead us around the field into good positions.”

On how he’s enjoyed his first season with the Dons:

”It’s a massive learning curve and experience for me so I’m just buzzing to get out there on Sunday. It’s why we’ve all played the sport from a young age.

“It’s a chance for everyone in front of our fans to leave everything out on the field knowing what the prize is at the end of it.

“This is the most enjoyment I’ve had playing rugby league since I was a kid if I’m honest, it’s a great environment and a good club to be at.

“Enjoying training and being around the lads makes me feel more comfortable going out there on a gameday, they’ve welcomed me in and I feel at home here.

“As a winger you’re always thinking about scoring tries, there is the personal side to it but this weekend is all about getting the job done with the boys.”
