NEWS | Back to basics for Horne

Richard Horne spoke to the media ahead of this weekend’s game against Cornwall RLFC in Betfred League One.

Horne wants his side to go back to basics after a disappointing couple of weeks in Betfred League One.

On finding solutions to recent problems:

“We’ve got a few boys that are not quite in the form we’d like so hopefully we can fix that over the next couple of weeks.

“It’s been tough to take with the results we’ve had but the teams we’ve come across are settled whereas we’re trying to bed in a lot of new boys.

“We’re not panicking and we know we’ve got a good squad, we just have to make sure everyone is used to what we’re doing.”

On preparing for Cornwall:

“We’ll be straight into it and we know the areas we’re falling short, we had four sets with the ball in 25 minutes against Swinton which isn’t going to win you any game.

“Cornwall will be looking at us thinking it’s an opportunity, so we have to be better with the ball and making decisions.

“The amount of errors we’ve made when playing the ball is criminal at the moment because it’s the backfield making them and it’s hurting our middles.

“We’re going to field the strongest team we can, we’re stripping it back to the basics so hopefully that clears a few minds.”
