NEWS | James Davies signs Dons deal

The Dons are delighted to announce the signing of forward James Davies on a one-year deal.

Davies has impressed while on trial at the club in recent weeks and featured in the Betfred Challenge Cup tie against Whitehaven earlier in March.

He has had experience at both Betfred Championship and League One level having spent time with Bradford Bulls, as well as a loan spell as Keighley Cougars.

Davies is the second prop to join the Dons in a matter of weeks after the arrival of Keelan Foster ahead of the new league season getting underway on March 27.

He said: “It’s great to put pen to paper. I’ve managed get into better shape since coming into train with the lads and I feel like I’m ready for the season ahead.

“Playing in the game against Whitehaven gave me the motivation to work as hard as possible to earn a deal at the club.

“Richard and the lads have been great with me so to get the deal done has made me really excited for the first league game.”

The Dons get their season underway against the Midlands Hurricanes at the Eco-Power Stadium on Sunday March 27, kick-off 3pm.
