NEWS | Jordie Hedges to retire through injury

The Dons can confirm that forward Jordie Hedges has been forced to retire from the sport of rugby league on medical grounds.
Hedges has missed the majority of the past two seasons with serious knee problems, after initially suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury against Oldham in 2019.
After initially arriving in South Yorkshire from South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2016, Hedges has played 85 times in blue and gold.
During that time he has scored 20 tries and kicked 31 goals, meaning he scored 141 points for the Dons throughout his time at the club.
Carl Hall said: “Jordie has been through a really tough time through injuries and having been at the club for six years now we are sad to see him go.
“He has a young family to think of now and despite it being a difficult decision to retire, he has to think of them and what is best moving forward.
“We are all behind him every step of the way and will do everything we can to help him throughout his recovery process.”
Everyone at the club would like to thank Jordie for his efforts while with the club, and wish him and his family all the best in the future.
