NEWS | Hedges signs long-term deal

Forward Jordie Hedges has committed his future to the Dons after signing a new three-year deal with the club.

The Australian arrived in South Yorkshire ahead of the 2016 campaign, and has gone on to make 85 appearances since – racking up almost 150 points along the way.

Hedges suffered a serious knee injury towards the end of the 2019 season, and has worked his way back to full fitness since then.

Chief executive Carl Hall said: “The deal represents a big commitment from the club and Jordie in investing in one another’s future, it is one that suits both parties.

“Jordie is one of the longest serving players at the club and it is great to have him with us for the next few years.

“He is still only 25 and has his best years as a rugby league player in front of him, and it is pleasing that they will be spent at the Dons.

“His performances in the 2019 campaign prior to his injury demonstrated just how important he is to the squad, and he has worked hard to get himself back to 100% ready for next season starting.”
