NEWS | Foundations laid for 2021 campaign

The Dons squad is taking shape for 2021 with the core of it being the seven players already contracted to the club for next season.

Captain Brad Foster, Sam Doherty, Matty Beharrell and Kieran Cross all agreed two-year deals with the club ahead of 2020, as did Papua New Guinea half-back Watson Boas and Doncaster-born centre Sam Smeaton.

Jason Tali is still under contract for next season after penning a three-year contract with the club back in 2018.

The club’s recruitment process continues to progress, with talks ongoing with potential recruits, as well as players the club want to keep beyond 2020.

Chief executive Carl Hall said: “We have a really strong foundation to build from with the boys already under contract for next season.

“We have obviously had to be shrewd in the market given the current financial climate but we feel we are already doing good business and will be able to announce more signings and contract renewals in the coming weeks.”
