NEWS | Dons show support for key workers

The Dons have produced a unique version of their badge to show support for key workers throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Dons will use the new badge - which is a silhouette of the usual badge, but entirely in NHS blue - across all social media channels. Doncaster Rovers and Doncaster Rovers Belles, also part of the Club Doncaster group, have also adopted similar badges.

Chief executive Carl Hall said: “This is a simple gesture that our communications team came up with while taking part in Thursday’s national moment of applause for the NHS.

“That was a special moment that brought the country together, and we’re going to leave the badge as it is until we are able to return to some kind of normality. Although we’ve used the colours of the NHS, we want to be clear that we’re right behind all key workers - these are the people keeping the country running so everyone else can stay safe.”

Carl said the club will look to thank key workers at a home game once rugby league can safely resume.

He added: “We’re still waiting to see what will happen with the season, but once we can get going again we want to join with our Club Doncaster brothers and sisters to say thank you in some way. We are so grateful for all their efforts right now.

“And tight now we will help where we can in supporting their public health messages, and our local authorities all know we’re ready to help where asked.”
