NEWS | Horne takes positives from Barrow defeat

Richard Horne felt his team deserved more after they were beaten 32-22 by Barrow Raiders in Betfred League One.

The Dons let slip a four point half-time lead as the Raiders scored four second-half tries at the Keepmoat Stadium.

He said: I thought we controlled the game for large parts, the tries we scored were well executed but it wasn’t enough to get us the win.

“We spoke a lot about dealing with them close to the line so it’s disappointing to see them score three tries from close range.

“We made errors in the last half an hour and that cost us, we gave away too many penalties and a good side like Barrow will take advantage of that.”

With West Wales Raiders next up in Betfred League One, Horne is looking to take the positives from the performance.

He added: “Barrow are the favourites for the competition and there wasn’t much between us so there are still plenty of positives to take.

“We aren’t a million miles off but we do need to have the recognition of not playing too much when we’re ahead in the game.”

The Dons return to the Keepmoat Stadium on Sunday March 8 to take on West Wales Raiders in Betfred League One. You can purchase tickets now from tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
