NEWS | Boas raring to go

Watson Boas says the Dons are using their Challenge Cup disappointment as motivation for their league opener against Barrow Raiders.

The 25-year-old has featured in all the games so far in 2020, and is looking forward to getting started in Betfred League One.

He said: “We’ve been preparing all pre-season for our first league game so it will be good to get going this weekend.

“We were ready to go against North Wales but the postponement has helped us to have another couple of weeks in training.

“The boys have got the disappointment of the Challenge Cup defeat in the back of our minds so we’re ready to give it a real go against Barrow.”

The game against the Raiders will see Boas go up against Papua New Guinea team-mate Wartovo Puara Jnr for the first time.

He added: “It’s the first time we have played against each other since we were young so it will be a bit of a different experience for us.

“We have taken some time to get used to the new boys that have come in and once we click I think we’ll have a really good side.”

Tickets for the game against Barrow at the Keepmoat Stadium on Sunday March 1 are available now from tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk
