NEWS | Foster expecting tough Wakefield test

Brad Foster is anticipating a different type of challenge when the Dons take on Wakefield Trinity reserves on Friday night.

The game is the Dons’ second and final pre-season game of 2020, and Foster says there is plenty to work on.

He said: “It’s a short turnaround so I’m sure there will be a few sore bodies heading into the Wakefield game but that is something we have to overcome.

“It will be a good game for us and a different experience, we want to put in a good performance and put a few things right from our last game.

“It would be nice to get through it without any injuries, hopefully we can tick a few boxes and prepare for that first league game.”

Having been named as captain for the new campaign, Foster says he will thrive on the added responsibility.

He added: “I was a bit shocked when Rich told me but I was buzzing once I found out, I want to lead by example as much as possible.

“I won’t hide when things get tough, I’ll get stuck in and hopefully the rest of the boys can follow that to bring us success.

“I know the fans want that promotion and obviously as players we want that too, with the squad we’ve got there is no reason why we shouldn’t be up there competing.”

You can purchase tickets for the game against Wakefield from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762 576, or at tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
