NEWS | Dons launch Ambassador Clubs Programme

We are proud to unveil the Dons Ambassador Club Programme as we continue our commitment to increase Rugby League participation in the local area.

The new scheme is designed to provide support to community clubs across a range of areas including coaching and player development, operations and education.

Designated Ambassador Clubs will receive opportunities for their young players while coaches will be able to take advantage of workshops.

Our aims:

  • Increase Rugby League participation levels
  • Provide opportunities for all players aged 4-16
  • Improve and develop partnerships with community clubs
  • Provide ongoing help & support to community clubs
  • Provide educational workshops for local community coaches

Dons head of development Josh Riding said: “This programme is at the heart of our Rugby League development plan and will ensure we continue to support our local clubs while expanding into new areas.

“The U7 to U11 teams from our Ambassador Clubs will become part of our matchday experience and participate in our Holiday Activity Camps, while the U12 to U16 groups will have both development and playing opportunities on our Future Dons Pathway.

“We are also very proud to be running workshops for local coaches moving forward.”

We welcome our Ambassador Clubs for 2024:

  • Bassetlaw Bulldogs
  • Bentley ARLFC
  • Doncaster Toll Bar
  • Goole Vikings
  • Immingham Wasps
  • Moorends Marauders
  • Upton ARLFC

Dons chief executive Carl Hall said: “We’re really excited to see the Ambassador Club Programme evolve under the guidance of Josh Riding. This is all part of the progression plan here at Doncaster RLFC.

“I would like to welcome all the Ambassador Clubs, and look forward to seeing future Dons players progress.”
