Forward Russ Spiers has agreed a new deal with the Dons for the 2020 campaign.

The 28-year-old was a key player last season as he helped the team reach the Betfred League One play-off semi-finals.

The new deal will take Spiers into his fourth season back at the Keepmoat Stadium after re-joining the club from York City Knights.

He said: “I’m really happy to be extending my stay at the club for another year, it’s one that I’m looking forward to with the lads that have renewed and the new signings as well.

“We’re all looking to push for promotion next season and I want to be a part of that after the disappointing end to last season.

“Now that the deal is done I can’t wait to get back into pre-season and get ready for what will hopefully be a successful year in 2020.”
