Tom Halliday is hoping his try-scoring exploits can help the Dons push for promotion via the play-offs.

The winger has scored eight tries in just two appearances at the Keepmoat Stadium, and says the style of play suits him well.

He said: “Playing here really suits me and I’ve managed to score a few tries in the couple of games I’ve played.

“The width of the pitch means I always have space and I know there are players on the inside who will find me.

“As a winger it’s important that your defensive work is good but you have to be a real threat going the other way.”

After a shoulder injury suffered in May brought a halt to his season, Halliday is pleased to be back out on the field.

He added: “It was frustrating to get injured during the Catalans game after I’d got off to such a good start the week before.

“I had to be patient and make sure my shoulder was right, but now that’s sorted and I’m looking forward to getting more games under my belt.”
