REACTION | Horne impressed with second-half showing

Richard Horne was pleased with his side's second-half performance in the win over London Skolars in Betfred League One.

The Dons scored five tries after the break to secure the two points at the New River Stadium, and Horne felt is was a deserved victory.

He said: “I thought we started really well, we built some pressure, got some points on the board early but then we just switched off and let them back into the game.

"A couple of penalties, a couple of errors. We were making hard work of it and at half time I spoke to them about that.

“We were just trying to make up things against a team who know that they are strong, and they play this pitch really well. It was narrow and short, so it suited them with the big team that they had."

Horne once again made changes to his starting XIII ahead of the game, and says that was a result of looking for some consistency in performances from his side.

He added: “A few of them are injuries but a few of them are performances. I expect performances from the boys and if they don’t give me it then I’ll look to bring somebody else in, it’s as simple as that.

“If they play well then they keep their spot, if they don’t then they’ll find themselves on the sideline and I’ve told them that from day one.

"We keep speaking about those little periods within games where we’re just letting teams back into the game due to again errors, penalties and going away from what we’ve been talking about all week."

The Dons return to the Keepmoat Stadium on Sunday May 20 to take on Hunslet in Betfred League One, tickets are available from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762576 or at
