PREVIEW | Kesik proud of landmark

12th April 2018

Kyle Kesik says it will be a proud moment if he makes his 200th Dons appearance against Hemel Stags this weekend.

The 28-year-old joined the club from Sheffield Eagles in 2009, and is looking forward out for running out at the Keepmoat Stadium as he reaches another landmark.

He said: "It will be a really proud moment and it's good achievement to say I've had a fair few injuries over the years, I've come back stronger from them and it's been a great few years for me.

"It adds to it that we're going to be at home in front of our crowd, it would have been better if we'd have been in a higher division but we've got to deal with what we've got.

"It's nice to play as many games as you can and it's a complement to myself that I'm doing things right, I won't think about it too much in the build-up but it will be nice on the day."

The game against Hemel will see the Dons look to make it five wins out of six in Betfred League One, and Kesik says they have to approach the game in a professional manner.

He added: ""To be honest their isn't a secret to our good start, the defence has been key and there is a willingness and a determination to not concede points. Our mentality is to leave it all out on the field.

"Hemel are going to give it their best shot and we can't take the foot off the pedal in a game we are expected to win, that probably cost us a few points on the board against North Wales last week.

"Nobody wants to give an inch which is important when you want to finish on top, our defence is good at the minute and we're backing ourselves to improve our attack on the back of that."

Tickets for the game against Hemel are available from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762576 or at

Please note that supporters will be located in the West Stand for the game against Hemel, and fans should enter through the turnstiles on that side of the stadium.
