REACTION | Jones-Bishop pleased with try

29th January 2018

Aaron Jones-Bishop is hoping his try against Batley Bulldogs will help force his way into the team ahead of the 2018 season.

The winger got the Dons' first try of the game in after 14 minutes, and was pleased with his overall performance against the Betfred Championship side.

He said: "I feel like i've performed well and put myself in Rich's thoughts ahead of the league season, it was nice to get some ball out on the wing and try to do something with it.

"I scored one and set one up at the end, i think we were good in parts. We started really well but let them back into it just before half-time.

"We came strong at the end, but they're a very good team and we did well to get so close. We're finishing games strongly which shows how fit we are as a team."

Jones-Bishop is looking to further impress head coach Richard Horne, with just a couple of weeks to go until the Betfred League One opener against Coventry Bears on February 18.

He added: "As a player you've just got to do things right, and then when the chance comes i have to take it and repay the faith shown in me.

"London and Batley are two good sides so these tests will improve us because they're playing at the level we all want to be at.

"There's plenty of positives to take, i'm sure the coaching staff will see areas for us to improve as well. We've got a little break now but we'll all be ready for the first league game."

Tickets for the Dons first league game against Coventry Bears on Sunday February 18 are available from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762576 or at
