The Dons have signed former York City Knights hooker Harry Carter for the 2020 season.

The 25-year-old made more than 50 appearances during his time at Bootham Crescent, and becomes Richard Horne’s third new recruit after the arrivals of Sam Smeaton and Jack Logan.

Carter said: “I’m good friends with Brad England and Brad Foster and they have a lot of good things to say about the club, so when my agent informed me of their interest it was a no brainer for me.

“I met with Richard Horne and I like where the club is going, he sold both the club and the playing style to me.

“I’m excited to get going in pre-season and feel we’re capable of making a real push for promotion next season.”

Head coach Richard Horne said: “Harry is a player we have worked hard on bringing to the club and I’m really pleased he has put pen to paper for next season.

“His pace will be a really big asset for us and his game suits the way I want to play rugby, I’m sure our fans will enjoy watching him play.”
