On loan Dons half-back Watson Boas says the squad is refreshed and ready to go for Saturday’s trip to West Wales Raiders in Betfred League One.

After three games in seven days last week, the Dons squad have enjoyed a strong week in training with the players resting ahead of the lengthy trip to Wales on Saturday.

And Boas feels the squad is fully rested and raring to go, as the Dons look to make it back-to-back victories in the league.

“After Saturday’s game, Tuesday we went and had a team meal so for Thursday everybody was fresh for training, and the session was really good. We are ready for the game now, and we’re confident,” he said.

“It will be my first time travelling such a long distance, but Rich and Pete have been telling the lads to keep refreshed because it will be a long drive.

“At the moment we can’t take any team in the league lightly, whether they are at the top or bottom. We need to keep going and push for the play-offs, we have to treat every team the same.”

With six games remaining in Betfred League One and 12 points to play for, Boas admitted that the coaching staff are putting added pressure on him, and his teammates.

But he added that the squad are all together and will be taking it one game at a game.

He said: “The coaches are putting more pressure on the boys, but they just want us to take every game at one step at a time. We are doing everything right at training and we want to put that in place on the field.

“At first when I arrived I thought I was going to struggle, but then all the boys and the coaching staff helped me and everyone has been really good to me. I’m looking forward to the end of the season to help the team have a strong finish to the year.”
