6th January 2019

Connor Bower says the Dons squad are raring to go ahead of their pre-season game against Hull FC on Sunday.

The game at the Keepmoat Stadium is the Dons’ first of 2019, and Bower is hoping their work throughout the winter months will pay off.

He said: “It’s a long pre-season and the boys have been working really hard in the gym and on the field to make sure we’re ready.

“The weeks before that first run out are all about making sure we make ourselves as strong as possible.

“It will benefit us massively coming up against Super League teams because we’ll be coming up against top class players.”

After an impressive first year with the club, Bower is looking for a fast start to the New Year against his old club.

He added: “It will be strange for me going up against Hull with it being a club I’ve been at since I was young, but for me it’s making sure we perform well.

“It’s a good chance to put ourselves in the frame for a place in the team once the league season comes around.

“A good performance in the first game of the year is something we’re wanting, it can give us momentum going into the other fixtures.”
