PREVIEW | Horne: Players are confident

Richard Horne says his players are embracing the challenge of the Betfred League One play-off semi-final.

The Dons take on Workington Town at the Keepmoat Stadium on Sunday, and the head coach believes the start to the game could be key.

He said: “We’re really looking forward to it, it’s the type of game we wanted to be involved in when we started the year.

“It was a very physical game last weekend, we don’t need to change a lot in terms of how we play but we have to raise the intensity.

“All coaches want their teams to start well and we did that last week, if you make errors then a team like Workington will punish you.”

After beating Leon Pryce’s side in the final game of the regular season last time out, Horne is hoping his side will have the edge.

He added: “Knockout rugby is about taking your chances, both teams will have opportunities so it’s important to make sure you finish them.

“We’ve been quite clinical in the games leading up to it, so hopefully we can do that and put some points on the board early.

“We want the weather to stay nice so we can move the ball about, home advantage is crucial as our fans always get behind us.”
