REACTION | Sanderson enjoying full-back role

Jack Sanderson felt his teammates were key in setting him up for four tries in the win against Hemel Stags.

The 74-10 victory moved the Dons up to sixth in Betfred League One, and Sanderson was happy to play his part.

He said: “We spoke before the game about putting in a good performance and putting a statement out to the league so hopefully we’ve done that.

“We’ve proved that we can perform well as a team and be clinical as an attacking force, it was nice to get the four tries but credit to the boys for putting me in those positions.

“Even though we were attacking for most of the game the hot weather still took it out of us, it’s about pushing each other to do the small things right.”

Sanderson made the switch to full-back for Richard Horne’s side ahead of the game, and says he enjoys creating problems for the opposition from that position.

He added: “I like playing at full-back as it gets me more involved and allows me to cause problems for other teams, but I’m happy to play wherever I’m picked.

“The communication was good and our plays seemed to come off most of the time, it was a good performance and it’s nice to get back on the board.

“The boys came off the field with smiles on their faces after a big win, we’ll have a tough week training this week and take it into the York game.”
